Faith and demons, Prayers and devotionals.

The Demonic Spirit
In referring to the demonic, many visions come to mind. Fiery monsters from some hellish abyss tend to fill the mind of those who have seen their supposed likeness in modern media-based depictions. In regards to investigative work such horrid visions are a complete rarity. When the demonic lashes out it is usually in complete invisibility. The best way to frighten is to lash out almost undetected. If a visual does occur it may be in a completely anonymous form. Often dark black, wispy shapes are seen in cases where the demonic are concerned. It relies on this anonymity to conceal its identity. Its main strength is the ability to conceal itself. By causing disbelief, confusion, and a general consensus of harmlessness, the demonic spirit operates best and at its full strength.
The demonic will try to scare and grab a foothold where infestation is concerned. This stages precedes encroachment, the stage where permission was granted either willingly or unwillingly for the spirit or spirits to take hold. This stage is much like phenomena caused by human spirit. Attention grabbers and minor scare tactics will arise to establish a fuel source. That fuel the very fear one throws off when experiencing that which they do not understand. It needs to be recognized to gain the ability to grow in intensity and needs its fuel composed of fear and basic human weaknesses.

Next, if the progression continues, oppression will set in. This stage is far greater than that of infestation. Now a mental barrage of temptation, terrible dreams, and fear may consume the person who is experiencing the assault of senses. Constant sleep deprivation may be used as well to break down the targeted individual or individuals. The demonic knows the weaknesses of those who it attacks, using these weaknesses to continue to gain muscle and potency. Also the physical phenomena will increase in both duration and intensity. Larger, heavier objects will move, hard poundings may occur, actual biting and scratching may occur as part of the debasing physical assaults on the intended victim. Oppression may take weeks, months, or even years, and there is no guarantee if the barrage will work so the struggle often becomes more and more intense. Therefore, by slithering about, stalking the essence of the individual, it can be very constant and intensify as resistance is applied. There is no time in the spirit world, these sinister and cunning spirits trying to execute the most intelligent plan of attack to dominate and conquer the will of that person. It is this stage where the demonic is setting the person up for the ultimate goal and desire: possession.       -John Zaffis (demonologist)

Christians are not automatically protected from demonic influence. We must practice our faith and keep up prayer. Also you don’t have to be the one to summon or invite the demonic to be influenced by it or for it to be around you. We need to be always on guard our spiritual enemies are always around. We need to keep our emotions under control and not let excessive anger, lust, envy, greed, all those things that entice us. If we allow any of these areas to gain control over us,. demons will use these areas to gain a foothold in our lives. They can easily take a little anger and make it to flare up into full blown hate. They can turn our emotions up to “11” to the point where we can’t see straight.
The only way to keep control over yourself it to give control over to God. Sounds weird i know, but in giving control to God means to live in a manner of devotion. Pray often. Give thanks, read the Bible, and do for others.
There are things that can help in this area, if you are the kind of person that needs something more tangible to hold and to see. There are rosary beads and medals. These are Catholic yes, but they are only tools to help us pray and remember how to live in faith. Since faith is all that is required you don’t have to be Catholic to use these. Find your own way to pray with them. There are also scapulars you can wear and there are such crosses as the pardon crucifix.

There are also prayers such as the chaplet of St. Michael. It is said that those who pray it everyday will receive the blessing of intercession of Michael and one angel from each choir.
I have been praying it myself for a little over a week. At night i sometimes see little flashes from the corner of my eyes. In my room while i have the curtains drawn. I sometimes feel a presence.

****Pardon Crucifix****
The Front of the Crucifix:
Above the cruciform figure, the familiar I.N.R.I. has been inscribed with the words “Jesus Nazarenus Rex Judaeorum. “” Latin uses I instead of the English J, and V instead of U (Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm). The English translation is “Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews.” .

The Reverse of the Crucifix:
On the transverse arms are the words, “Father, forgive them.”. On the vertical beam of the Cross are the words, “Behold this heart which has so loved men.”. An image of The Sacred Heart of Jesus is shown in the center.

 Definition of Indulgence

The word indulgence originally meant kindness or favor. In Latin it meant the remission of a tax or debt. Under Roman law it was used to express release from captivity or punishment. In this instance, an indulgence is given to remit the temporal punishment of sin that has been forgiven.

These indulgences have been declared upon the Pardon Crucifix by Pope St. Pius X in 1905, and have been approved in the pardon of the living and the souls in Purgatory in 1907. The lengths of the indulgences were repealed in the new Enchiridion, and the indulgences were granted to remit the guilt of the sin committed:

1. Whoever carries on his person the Pardon Crucifix, may thereby gain an indulgence.

2. For devoutly kissing the Crucifix, an indulgence is gained.

3. Whoever says one of the following invocations before this crucifix may gain each time an indulgence: “Our Father who art in heaven, forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” “I beg the Blessed Virgin Mary to pray to the Lord our God for me.”

4. Whoever, habitually devout to this Crucifix, will fulfill the necessary conditions of Confession and Holy Communion, may gain a Plenary Indulgence on the following feasts: On the feasts of the Five Wounds of our Lord, the Invention of the Holy Cross, the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the Immaculate Conception, and the Seven Sorrows (Dolors) of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

5. Whoever, at the moment of death, fortified with the Sacraments of the Church, or contrite of heart, in the supposition of being unable to receive them, will kiss this Crucifix and ask pardon of God for his sins, and pardon his neighbor, will gain a Plenary Indulgence.

****Scapulars****
Devotional scapulars are sacramentals, primarily worn by Roman Catholics and some Lutherans, designed to show the wearer’s pledge to a confraternity, a saint, or a way of life, as well as reminding the wearer of that promise. Some devotional scapulars bear images, or verses from scripture.
I’m not catholic, but have chosen to wear one. I’ve made a pledge to follow God and life specific devotions between God and myself. I believe the devotion and even the specific blessing can be customized between the man and God. This is a pledge between you and him. If you do it out of faith.

Devotional scapulars typically consist of two rectangular pieces of cloth, wool or other fabric that are connected by bands. One rectangle hangs over the chest of the wearer, while the other rests on the back, with the bands running over the shoulders. Some scapulars have extra bands running under the arms and connecting the rectangles to prevent them from getting dislodged underneath the wearer’s top layer of clothes.

The Fivefold Scapular is a sacramental made up of the five most popular scapulars in the Catholic Church: the Brown Scapular, the Blue Scapular, the Black Scapular, the Red Scapular, and the White Scapular.
The Brown Scapular (also known as the Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, or simply as the Scapular) is the most popular scapular. Given to Simon Stock by Our Lady of Mount Carmel, she promised him that “whoever dies clothed in this scapular shall not suffer the eternal flames.” Later, she appeared to Pope John XXII as the Mediatrix of all graces, promising him that “whoever shall wear my Scapular faithfully, pray the Divine Office [various indults have applied in the past and apply today], and exercise chastity in their state of life shall not suffer Hell, and if they should go to Purgatory, I shall bring them to Heaven on the First Saturday after their death.”

The Blue Scapular of the Immaculate Conception is due to Venerable Ursula Benicasa, founder of the Order of Theatine Nuns, when a group of wealthy young women who had given up their wealth in order to live for Jesus Christ had wanted to honor the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Virgin Mary had promised Benicasa that whoever wore her Scapular would be under her special protection and receive special graces through her maternal intercession.

The Black Scapular (also known as the Scapular of the Seven Dolors of Mary) was revealed to Alexander IV shortly after he had sanctified the Servite Order in 1255. Our Lady of Sorrows had promised that whoever meditated upon her seven dolors would receive her special protection at the hour of death.

The Red Scapular of the Passion was revealed to Sr. Appoline Andriveau, a Sister of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul in 1846. The Lord promised that whoever wore his Scapular he would grant a great increase of faith, hope, and charity every Friday (the office day of the Passion).

The Scapular of the Holy Trinity is a Roman Catholic devotional scapular associated with the Confraternity of The Holy Trinity and the Secular Third Order of the Most Holy Trinity. It is a white scapular with a blue and red cross (+) and is worn by members of the Confraternity of the Blessed Trinity (or other Trinitarian association that makes use of the scapular) after being invested with this scapular. It is a sign of consecration to the Holy Trinity and of fraternity.

****Music as a weapon****
Music can be uplifting and give you courage and strengthen your faith in vital moments.
Music is a good way to drive away evil and darkness. It is a good idea to memorize at least one hymn. I’ve memorized “In the garden.” It is one of my favorites as well as Amazing Grace.

I read an article about this religious guy who stopped at a drive in where the attending woman had the radio set to a religious station and he complemented her on it and she said it keeps the riff raff away. That’s true bad people can’t stand to be around when religious music is being played. It’s like an invisible shield. Also i read in a book called Truckers Ghost stories from Amazon. It is a collection of true stories collected by the author from experiences people have had on the road. One trucker felt a demonic force shaking the cab of his truck while he was trying to sleep. It would work his way in and try to choke him. He bought a copy of the Passion of the Christ and played it on his dvd player all night. It didn’t come back until the dvd had stopped playing and he started it again.

Concluding prayers

O glorious prince St. Michael, chief and commander of the heavenly hosts, guardian of souls, vanquisher of rebel spirits, servant in the house of the Divine King and our admirable conductor, thou who dost shine with excellence and superhuman virtue deliver us from all evil, who turn to thee with confidence and enable us by your gracious protection to serve God more and more faithfully every day.

Almighty and Everlasting God, Who, by a prodigy of goodness and a merciful desire for the salvation of all men, has appointed the most glorious Archangel St. Michael Prince of Thy Church, make us worthy, we beseech Thee, to be delivered from all our enemies, that none of them may harass us at the hour of death, but that we may be conducted by him into the August Presence of Thy Divine Majesty. This we beg through the merits of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

Amen.

Arariel (Azareel, Uzziel) – Curer of stupidity and one of the 7 angels with dominion over the earth. Arariel is specifically an angel who presides over the waters of the earth (according to the Talmudists). He is invoked by fishermen so that they may, with luck, catch big fish.

Mumiah – This angel presides over the sciences of medicine and physics. Mumiah is traditionally believed to grant health and longevity, as well as being able to suspend physical laws to create miracles.

Natiel – An angel with the power to ward off evil who’s name was found in the charm called kamea.

Osael – A cherub.

Cassiel – Ruler of Saturday. The angel of solitudes and tears who “shews forth the unity of the eternal kingdom”. Cassiel is one of the rulers of the planet Saturn and is also the ruling prince of the seventh heaven. Cassiel is one of the Sarim (princes) of the order of powers. Sometimes, he appears as the angel of temperance.

Suriel – Like Metatron, Suriel is a prince of presence and like Raphael, an angel of healing. He is also a benevolent angel of death, (one of a few). Suriel was sent to retrieve the soul of Moses. It is said that Moses received all his knowledge from Suriel, (although Zazagel is credited also with giving Moses his knowledge). He is one of the great Archangels. He is one of seven angels in the system of primordial powers. When invoked, he may appear as an ox. In Cabala he is one of the seven angels that rule the earth.

Calliel – One of the throne angels serving in the second heaven, invoked to bring prompt help during adversity.
